Wife of Ghana's Vice President Samira Bawumia says she wants to be judged by her work, not her choice of clothes

Wife of Ghana

Wife of Ghana's Vice President Samira Bawumia, has said social media critics should be more concerned about how she is using her position to impact the lives of others rather than her choice of clothes.
Mrs Bawumia since the inauguration of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on January 7, 2016, has been an attraction at many public events with her fashion.

She has been criticised by some people who feel her choice of clothing do not reflect her religious leanings as a Muslim and her position as wife of the Vice President.
But in an interview on Accra-based Citi FM Wednesday, Mrs Bawumia noted that instead of paying attention to her wardrobe; she wished that people would rather focus on her work.
“I wish it wouldn’t be the preoccupation…because I’m doing a lot of work that I will rather highlight. I mean if a woman is dressing well there shouldn’t be anything wrong with that. I think we should own our beauty and also make a difference,” she said.

She also noted that her choice of wardrobe is also promoting the business for those who make them and that is something that excites her.
“Sometimes I wear clothes and those who made it for me, their business booms and I’m happy for them because I’m also promoting their industry.”
Nonetheless, she says, such comments only become a bother when they tend to spite her.
“I worry slightly about how sometimes the discourse goes because this politics turns to be sometimes a little vicious. I don’t mind for my own personal saying because if someone I don’t know has an opinion about me [that’s] tough; but I worry about the people I know and how they feel about my interaction with them and for the most time I get a positive response,” she said.

Airline pilot was "sucked halfway out" when cockpit windshield broke

Airline pilot was "sucked halfway out" when cockpit windshield broke

An airline pilot had a close brush with death when he was "sucked halfway out" of the plane after a cockpit windshield blew out.

A Sichuan Airlines flight was forced to make an emergency landing on Monday and it was later reported that the reason for the emergency landing was because the cockpit windshield blew out and almost tossed the pilot out of the plane.
But for his seat belt, he would have been sucked out completely.

Airline pilot was "sucked halfway out" when cockpit windshield broke

Captain Liu Chuanjian has been hailed as a hero on social media after having to land the Airbus A319 manually. He told the Chengdu Economic Daily his aircraft had just reached a cruising altitude of 32,000ft when a deafening sound tore through the cockpit. There was a sudden loss of pressure and drop in temperature. When he looked over, the right windshield was gone.

He said:
There was no warning sign. Suddenly the windshield just cracked and made a loud bang. The next thing I know my co-pilot had been sucked halfway out of the window.
Everything in the cockpit was floating in the air. Most of the equipment malfunctioned ... and I couldn’t hear the radio. The plane was shaking so hard I could not read the gauges.

The co-pilot, who was wearing a seatbelt, was pulled back in. He sustained scratches and a sprained wrist, the Civil Aviation Administration of China said, adding that one other cabin crew member was injured in the descent. None of the plane’s 119 passengers were hurt. An investigation is underway.

The flight, Sichuan Airlines 3U8633, left the central Chinese municipality of Chongqing on Monday morning and was bound for the Tibetan capital of Lhasa. It made its emergency landing in the south-west city of Chengdu.
Recounting the incident, an unnamed passenger told the government-run China News Service:
The crew were serving us breakfast when the aircraft began to shake. We didn’t know what was going on and we panicked. Then the oxygen masks dropped … We experienced a few seconds of free fall before it stabilised again.
I’m still nervous. I don’t dare to take an airplane anymore. But I’m also happy I had a narrow escape.

The windshield shattered about half an hour after the plane took off at 6.25am local time, the Chengdu Economic Daily said. Birds or lightning strikes have been known to crack airliners’ windshields before but an entire windshield coming off is rare.

This wouldn't be the first time such is happening though. In 1990 one of the pilots on British Airways flight 5390 was sucked partially out of the cabin window after its windshield blew out at 23,000 feet. He survived the incident.

Bukola Saraki accuses IGP, Idris Ibrahim of plotting to implicate him

Bukola Saraki accuses IGP, Idris Ibrahim of plotting to implicate him

The faceoff between the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, and the senate has taken a new dimension with the senate president today accusing the police boss of planning to implicate him.

Recall that the senate and Idris have been at loggerheads following the latter's refusal to honor the former's invitation to answer questions on Dino Melaye's arrest and the killings happenig in different parts of the country.

Saraki during plenary this morning, told his collegues that his state governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara state, gave him the information about the IG's plan.

He said the IGP has ordered that some suspected cultists arrested in Illorin should be taken to Abuja where their statements will be altered to implicate him and the state government.
“Last night, my state governor, revealed to me an information at his disposal that a group of suspects who have been arrested in our state for cultism, whose investigation has been completed and were about to be under prosecution under the state law on the advise of the ministry of justice, all of a sudden were ordered to be transferred to Abuja this morning. The information reaching him from the commissioner of police that they have been directed by IGP to bring them to Abuja. With the information that he has, they would find how to alter their statement already made in Ilorin and try and implicate the state government and particularly myself. I feel that as we speak now, these suspects are already here in Abuja.
“These acts I don’t know whether to call it desperation or intimidation, all actions to undermine our democracy, a recipe for anarchy because we are doing our work by asking officials to obey the law, due process and subject themselves to constituted authority. I think it is important to call your attention to this dangerous development. The impunity happeneing in this country is a danger to our democracy.” he said

Doctor explains why it's a smart and healthy idea to masturbate before a date

Doctor explains why it

According to this article, masturbating before a first date is a good idea to calm nerves. It's also very important to the success of the date for so many reasons listed below.
The first reason why masturbating before a first date is advised is that it gives one something to do before the date, thereby taking away the tension involved in meeting someone new and getting to know them for the first time. So rather than pacing and getting tense as the time for the date nears, the article suggests masturbating.
Also, masturbating before a date reminds you that your happiness is literally in your hands, and this helps take off the edge, knowing you don't need anyone to make you sexually desirable or fulfilled.
Some Twitter users have taken to Twitter to share that masturbating before a first date helps them relax so they are less blinded by their sexual urges.
Nasserian Onyekachi Abena Nzama tweeted: "Ladies, honestly... Am i the only one who masturbates before a first date?"

Doctor explains why it

Apparently, she isn't the only one, because, Alison Stevenson also tweeted: "Pro tip: Masturbate right before your Tinder date so you're less blinded by horniness."

Doctor explains why it

The article continues to give other reasons why it's advisable to masturbate before dates.
According to Dr. Tami Prince, OB-GYN and owner of Women’s Health and Wellness Center of Georgia, LLC, "Masturbating before dates can release any sexual tension that may hinder a woman from being fully present and concentrating on the date. If a woman is constantly thinking about sex during a date, she may miss out on meaningful conversation and quality time with her partner."
Furthermore, masturbation has been proven to improve a person's mood. Dr. Prince explains that masturbation can help women release more than just sexual tension in their bodies. When you masturbate, your body produces endorphins, which put you in a generally pleasant mood, and dopamine, which reduces stress. Masturbation has also been known to reduce anxiety and depression, thereby helping you socialize better.
Dr. Prince goes on to say that women who masturbate tend to have better sex with their partners. She said, "Masturbation can increase vaginal lubrication, as well as sexual desire which can then in turn enhance the orgasm phase."
She adds that women who masturbate more frequently have better sex because they're better able to guide their partner and articulate what they like in bed.
"A sexual partner can't be expected to pleasure to the point of orgasm if a woman is unable to tell them what her likes and dislikes are," she explains.
Lastly, the body secretes prolactin during masturbation and prolactin also acts as a sleep aid, in case the date didn't go so well and you need to sleep it off, or in case the date went so well that you can't calm down enough to fall asleep.

'There is no iota of truth in Saraki's allegation and false assertion of plot to implicate him by the IGP' - Nigerian Police issues statement

The Nigerian Police High Command has debunked the alarm raised by the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, that the police is about to implicate him using ‘‘coerced’ cultists”.

The Police said the alarm was a ruse, misleading and amounted to an obstruction of justice.

Saraki raised the alarm on the floor of the Senate today, with the Senate resolving to send a 12-man delegation to discuss the matter with President Muhammadu Buhari. However, in a swift statement, the police expressed shock at what they described as “unbelievable claims, unverifiable allegations and unfounded accusations”, by the Senate President.

“There is no iota of truth in the allegation and false assertion by the Senate President of plot against him by the IGP to implicate the Kwara State Government and the Senate President in any criminal matter. Until investigation is concluded, any person (s) or group(s) who tries to interfere in the investigation process by action or utterances is committing an offence”, the Police spokesman, Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Jimoh Moshood said.
Moshood explained that the Kwara State Police Command on the 11 May, 2018, paraded six suspected hired killers, all from Ilorin, who it said had admitted and confessed publicly killing innocent persons in kwara State and other States of the country.

“The victims according to the suspects were targeted and killed on the instructions of their sponsors”, Moshood stated.  The suspects were identified as Abolaji Safti Ojulari, Lanre Mohammed Soliu a.k.a Askari, Azeez Moyaki, Suleiman Babatunde, Yusuf Habeeb, Umar Yahaya, all from various quarters of Ilorin, the Kwara state capital. The police also listed the 11 victims of the alleged hired assassins as Bukola Ajikobi, Azeez Lawal and Bayo Ajia, all killed between 2016 and 2018 in Ilorin..

Other alleged victims were identified with their first names only: Lateef, Jamiu, Segun, Wasiu, Musiliu, another Lateef, Abbey a student of Kwara Polytechnic and Lanre, who was killed on 23 August, 2015 at Isale Aluko Area of Ilorin.
“Consequent upon the public confessions of these vicious and notorious killer squad to the killings in cold blood of more than 11innocent people in Kwara State and other States of the Federation, the statutory procedure and practice in the Force is that such a heinous crime and capital offence is transferred to the Force Headquarters for further investigation. This is to enable a thorough and discreet investigation into the crime.  In ordering the transfer of the case, the police headquarters denied any vested interest by the Inspector General of Police.  It said the interest of the IGP is to ensure that “justice prevails in the matter. Nobody, no matter how highly placed would be allowed to interfere or obstruct Police investigation to pervert the course of justice”, Moshood said..
The police also claimed that the transfer of the suspects was consistent with their investigative tradition. According to the police: “Suspects arrested over the mayhem and killings of innocent people in Ile-Ife, Osun State and those arrested in Southern Kaduna crisis in Kaduna State and suspects arrested in connection with Zaki-biam killings in Benue State were all transferred to the Force Headquarters, Abuja for further investigation before they were arraigned in court of competent jurisdiction. Therefore, transferring this hired assassin gang masquerading as cultists in Kwara State to Force Headquarters, Abuja for further investigation is in accordance with Police investigation procedures.

The police warned that with the red-herring statement credited to the Senate President, the families of the victims could be discouraged from coming forward to give evidence against them.
