Teenage girl writhes in agony on shop floor screaming "Help me, I'm burning" after she was sprayed with "acid" on London bus

Teenage girl writhes in agony on shop floor screaming "Help me, I

The horrific moment a teenage girl writhes in agony after she was sprayed with a noxious substance on a London bus was captured on CCTV.

The 18-year-old girl is seen as she rushes into a food market stall in a shopping arcade and makes for the chiller cabinet, where she grabs a bottle of water and begins rinsing her mouth and face with it. She then collapses on the floor as shoppers watched in shock.

The girl stumbled into a stall belonging to Mohammed Raffiq in the Reliance Arcade after she was sprayed in the face with acid on a bus in Brixton, south London. Police believe she was deliberately targeted by her female attacker.
Mohammed Raffiq told MailOnline how the teenage girl stumbled into his stall and screamed, "Help me, I'm burning" as she slumped to the floor by the chiller cabinet and tried to cool herself down.
Mr Raffiq is seen on the CCTV video trying to help her as another bystander calls an ambulance.

He said: "She was screaming and clearly in a lot of pain. She grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge and was squirting it into her mouth and on to her face. She said, 'Someone gave me acid! Someone put it in my mouth! It's in my mouth!'
"I gave her five more bottles of water and she went into another shop to wash herself down."
The young woman, who is believed to have been involved in a fight on a bus, was taken into a woman's hairdressing shop.
Hairdresser Sabrina Belachew said: "The poor young woman came into my shop. She was in terrible pain She was screaming: 'I'm burning, I'm burning.' She was asking for scissors to cut her hair.
"She said her attacker had sprayed something in her mouth and put something in her hair. I felt very sorry for her and worried for my own children. Everyone has to use the bus."
In another video, firemen were seen hosing her down behind a screen on the street before she was taken to hospital.

The victim's sister gave an update on her sister. She said she is OK.
"This is an issue. It's getting worse. I think she's ok. But how is this all going to stop?" the victim's sister said.
Police said last night they were hunting a lone female suspect. The attack is being treated as grievous bodily harm and is believed to be targeted and not random, they added.

A Scotland Yard spokesperson said: "The woman was treated at the scene as she got off the bus. She was then taken to a central London hospital for treatment. Her condition is not life changing or life threatening. She has no major burns. Enquiries continue to trace the single suspect involved, who is now believed to be female."

Father brutally kills his six-month-old daughter with a pickaxe after he accused her mother of cheating

Father brutally kills his six-month-old daughter with a pickaxe after he accused her mother of cheating

A six-month-old baby was brutally killed with a pickaxe, allegedly by her own father, after he accused her mother of cheating.
The infant's father, 27-year-old Lesiba Motsai, appeared on murder charges at the Mookgophong Magistrate's Court in Limpopo last Friday.
Baby Bonolo's grieving mother Modjadji Marikhela, 19, has vowed to avenge her daughter's death if her former partner is released on bail.
"I'm heartbroken and I don't know what an innocent baby did to him to be slaughtered like an animal. I want him to die. I don't want to see him again because if he comes I'm going to mobilise the community to kill him," she said.

Marikhela said she had dumped Motsai after he allegedly physically abused her for three years.
According to Marikhela, the man came to her home in Hlala-Mpsha section on Thursday and asked to see baby Bonolo.
"He said we should go to his place so he can relax with the baby and I agreed. When I was about to leave, his mother requested I leave Bonolo behind because she hadn't seen her in a long time.
"I then told his mother that my younger sister will come and fetch her before sunset. All of a sudden he started accusing me of cheating. I told him to get lost because, me and him, we were no longer an item," she said.
Marikhela said Motsai allegedly assaulted her and charged at her with a shoe sewing needle and told her she would never see her baby again. She ran home and asked her 13-year-old sister to fetch her baby.
The younger sister, who witnessed the incident, told Sowetan that when she arrived at Motsai's house, he was breaking a door open with a pickaxe.
"He was trying to gain access into a room where the baby and his mother were after she had locked him out. He forced the door open and got to Bonolo before me.
"He placed the baby under his armpit and reached out for the shoe needle from his pocket, and stabbed the baby in the head. He then pulled it out and stabbed her again in the stomach," she said.
The teenager said he then threw the baby on the ground.
"He left the baby on the ground thinking she was dead. He then returned after hearing Bonolo's desperate cough and came back with a pick and finished her off. Her small intestines were exposed," the teenager said.

During his court appearance on Friday, Motsai told the court he was angry and frustrated after his baby mama lied to him.
"She said she was going to visit her grandmother's house at a nearby township but only to find out she went to see her boyfriend."
Magistrate Frans Mahodi warned Motsai that he was charged with a very serious crime.
"It is inhumane what you did and you can go to jail for very long time," he said.
Motsai said he was aware of the crime he committed and had been thinking about what he did to baby Bonolo.
"I intend to plead guilty and I am prepared to go to jail for killing my baby," he said.
Mahodi further advised Motsai to enlist the services of a Legal Aid lawyer to represent him after he insisted he wanted to represent himself.
The court also heard that after killing the baby, Motsai tried to commit suicide by hanging himself but was rescued by community members.
Motsai abandoned his bail application. Mahodi postponed the matter to May 31 for a formal bail application.

18-year-old Nigerian girl emerges Best Graduating Student in Miles College, USA

18-year-old Nigerian girl emerges Best Graduating Student in Miles College, USA

The Presidential Amnesty Programme, PAP, has produced an 18-year- old Boubini Jones-Wonni, as best graduating student from Miles College, Metropolitan Birmingham, Alabama, United States of America, USA.
Jones-Wonni who was declared by the university authority as best graduating student on May 5, 2018, got her admission in 2014 after making the best result in the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination, SSCE, at the Word of Faith Group of Schools in Abuja and was also the best student at age of 14.
She hails from Arogbo in Ondo State and was one of the children from the Niger-Delta states that sat for a special exam conducted by KAPLAN in Lagos to select the best to study in the university under the PAP, by a former Coordinator and Adviser on the PAP to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Hon. Kingsley Kuku.
She was initially granted admission by the University of Alabama, Birmingham, USA, at age 15 to study Medicine, but could not make it to the school due to late resumption.
She therefore settled for Miles College in Alabama to pursue her first degree in Biology. Born on October 23, 1999, she started her education at Banky’s Private School in Abuja, where because of her intelligence, she was asked to enroll for the common entrance at primary three. She made the best result and was admitted into Word of Faith Group of Schools in Abuja, where she sat for the 2013/2014 SSCE and had an outstanding result with ‘As’ and ‘Bs’ in all her subjects, and was made valedictorian of the year.
She said:
“I want to express my gratitude to God and then to the Federal Government through the Presidential Amnesty Programme, PAP, to avail me of this opportunity to gain admission into Miles College in Alabama to pursue my first degree in Biology. “Today, I have successfully completed the programme, I thank God for being with me throughout the programme, and He crowned my effort. I was not expecting this but I thank God.”
Meanwhile, Howard University, Washington D.C, USA, at the weekend granted her admission to study medicine, where she will become a trained neurologist and surgeon soon.

South African student shot dead by unknown assailant a month to her 22nd birthday

South African student shot dead by unknown assailant a month to her 22nd birthday

A 21-year-old human resources intern who just enrolled for a Bachelor of Education degree with the University of South Africa has been shot dead.
Jabulile Nhlapo,  was set to celebrate her 22nd birthday on June 4. But then her life was cut short tragically and mysteriously when she was shot dead by an unknown assailant who gained entry at her Vanderbijlpark student commune on Tuesday.
She was found lying in a pool of blood. Her cousin Lettia Tshibase, 26, told Sowetan they were planning a surprise birthday party for her next month, but their efforts would now go in preparing to bury her.
"Her mother and I thought we would surprise her with a party, but we are here collecting her belongings and making funeral arrangements," Tshibase said.
She described Nhlapo as a charismatic and ambitious person. She said the family did not want to speculate what could have been the motive for Nhlapo's murder.
"We were speaking on WhatsApp during the day and she said she wanted to rest for a bit. I was shocked when I received a message a few hours later that she was killed."
Nhlapo's grandmother Susan Rantabane said she was bitterly upset at her granddaughter's killing.
"Jabu had a bright future ahead of her. She was studying education through Unisa and was an intern at Emfuleni municipality. She didn't deserve to be killed like this. She wanted to make something out of her life by teaching," Rantabane said.
Nhlapo's friend, who asked not to be named, said it appeared the 21-year-old was gunned down by someone she knew.
"We heard that there was a guy who was lurking in the street where she lived. He eventually came across someone who knew Jabu and that person showed him where she stayed," said the friend.
"The students who live in the commune with her said they didn't hear the gunshot. They thought it was a pot's lid falling on the floor and only realised when police knocked on their door about 30 minutes [later]," said the student.
Sergeant Gertrude Makhale said police were investigating a case of murder.
"We are urging members of the public to come forward with information that will lead to the arrest of the suspect," Makhale said.
