Here's what President Buhari said at the first anti corruption summit in Adamawa State

Here

Today, President Buhari delivered a keynote address at the first edition of the Adamawa State anti corruption summit where he said, 'I recommend to other states this model along with all other winning approaches to enhance the progress and development of our Nation'.

See his full speech below...
I am delighted to be here today, and to be part of this memorable event.
It is very encouraging that a State Government on its own ventures into the subject matter of fighting Corruption deliberately, as well as transparently subjects its methods to the whole nation for detailed discussion.
You may recall back on 29th May 2015, when I stated that we are faced with enormous challenges in this Country, with insecurity and institutionalized pervasive corruption being key and that my confidence remained high that together we will tackle them head on. As I had predicted, today I am proud to note that we have not relented in our determination to fight corruption. We are fixing our problems together.
Even though under our system the Federal Government cannot directly interfere in the details of the operations of States, but to see that the gross corruption at the local level is being checked and transparently reported is a thing of satisfaction and joy for me.
We will try to ensure that, there is more responsible and accountable governance at all levels of government in the country.
I note with satisfaction the logical steps taken by Adamawa State Government in the last two and a half years to demonstrate that transparency, fiscal responsibility, accountability and timely delivery of strategic goods and services to develop the state and enhance the confidence of its people is a viable template to fighting corruption.
Team work, the cordial relationship between the Executive and the Legislature, the respect and compliance with fiscal and procurement laws, the institutional reforms to improved efficiency, the drive to achieve value for money, as demonstrated by this administration is worthy of note.
I recommend to other states this model along with all other winning approaches to enhance the progress and development of our Nation.
The projects and progress I have seen in Yola along with the reports and presentations made here have given me encouragement on the future of the State. I hope this momentum will be sustained.
To the Government of Adamawa State, I say “well done and keep it up”. To the people of Adamawa State, I congratulate you all for supporting the Government and encourage you to continue to give your maximum support to the State Government in its drive for a much better future.
Thank you and may God bless our country.

Two Nigerian illegals and a Thai taxi driver were arrested in Aranyaprathet, a border town of Eastern Thailand, after a dramatic border chase traversing five checkpoints.
The Nigerians were eventually rounded up in a sugar cane plantation trying to return to Cambodia.

The drama began around 8am when a policeman on his rounds saw two black men vault over a wall into the car park at Rong Klua market.
They had jumped over to flee Cambodia. They jumped into a waiting taxi and the three including the taxi driver sped off.
Police and military authorities were soon informed as the taxi went along the Sri Phen Road that follows the border. In total five checkpoints both police and military were traversed before strips managed to damage the taxi enough to make it stop.

At that point the two Nigerians bailed out of the taxi and disappeared into a sugar cane field. As they tried to cross back into Cambodia they were arrested.
A bag in the boot of the taxi contained their passports identified them as Reginald Uzoho, 27, and Chinaka Ibemere, 31.
They told police they had been in Vietnam before they left and went into Cambodia. They said they were headed for Pratunam in Bangkok to see a friend.

They clammed up when asked to explain why they had no exit stamp from Vietnam. Police believe they were breaking the law there.
Taxi driver Wan Thongkhan, 57, told police that he was hired by Cambodians for 3,000 baht to drive two men to Bangkok. He said that he was forced by the Nigerians to drive on through the checkpoints.

Police dismissed this story as nonsense as he had plenty of opportunity to stop and give up.
The cops are looking into the background of the Nigerians and the taxi driver to see what they were up to suspecting that it may well have something to do with illicit drugs.

Two UN aid workers killed by "unidentified gunmen" in Congo

Two UN aid workers killed?by "unidentified gunmen" in Congo
Two United nations aid workers were killed and a third is missing in the Democratic of Congo (DR Congo) over the weekend.

The two were targeted by "unidentified gunmen" on Saturday, a statement by the United Nations humanitarian office in the capital Kinshasa said.

UN spokesman Farhan Haq said victims were both employees of French NGO Hydraulique Sans Frontieres (HYFRO), which provides water.  It is not known what nationality the employees were.  The attack in North Kivu, in the east of the country, comes less than a year after two UN experts were killed in DR Congo.

The bodies of US citizen Michael Sharp and Swedish national Zaida Catalan were discovered in the central Kasai region, two weeks after they were abducted having gone to Kasai to investigate reports of abuses after local rebels took up arms.  North Kivu province, meanwhile, has also been wracked by violence, with an increase in kidnappings and killings due to rivalries between ethnic groups. In December, 15 UN peacekeepers were killed.

Kaduna state government gives reasons for the demolition of APC faction's secretariat

Kaduna state government gives reasons for the demolition of APC faction

Early this morning, the one-storey building belonging to a faction of an APC secretariat in the Sambo area of Zaria was demolished. The state government has issued a statement giving reasons for the demolition. Read the statement below
Statement on 11b Sambo Close, from Kaduna Geographical Information Service
The Kaduna State Urban Planning and Development Agency (KAPSUDA) is currently undertaking operations across Kaduna metropolis in compliance with its mandate. In partnership with sister agencies, KASUPDA is clearing illegal structures, tackling street hawking and restoring order across Kaduna.
This morning a building on 11B Sambo Close was removed for flagrant violations of land use and non-payment of ground rent since 2010. This illegal violation of use had begun to distress neighbours who were being forced to endure an influx of thugs and blockage of the road.
The Kaduna Geographic Information Service (KADGIS) issued a revocation notice of statutory right of occupancy No. KD. 16712, that covers 11b Sambo Close in the Ungwan Rimi area. The appropriate notice of revocation was delivered at 28 Inuwa Wada Road, the registered address of the company that held the title to the property. The notice was also delivered to the building in question, and sent by post to the registered address of the previous title holder.
The land has now been allocated to KASUPDA for the purpose of developing and maintaining a public park that will provide a green area and a serene place for recreation in that residential neighbourhood.
KADGIS wishes to remind all title owners to be fastidious in complying with the terms of their allocation. The purpose of allocation of land cannot be wilfully altered; neither can title holders lawfully neglect to pay their ground rents.
Since 2016, the government has been taking action on various land related matters, including revoking all undeveloped land titles in the state and directed that all abandoned buildings be developed within three months of the notice.
The Kaduna Geographic Information Service (KADGIS), as the government agency charged with ultimate responsibility on land matters in Kaduna State, calls for the utmost cooperation by the public with all our agencies.

Signed
Ibrahim Husseini
Director-General
KADGIS
20th February 2018
