I was paid N8,000 to kill 17-year-old girl for ritual. It was my 2nd time – Suspect

Yewunu Tanlaju, the alleged killer of a 17-year-old girl whose body parts were reportedly severed for money rituals, on Monday, disclosed that he was contracted to do the job for N8,000. .
.
The 35-year-old suspect made the shocking confession to journalists after he was paraded alongside two other alleged partners in crime at the police headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta. .
.
He said he lured the girl, who was hawking snacks into a hideout at Arigo Ijofin located in Ipokia LGA of Ogun State and murdered her. ”I was given the sum of N8,000 as contract job for the killing of the girl. .
.
It was Olusoji Asamo, the herbalist, who contracted the job to me,” he said. The suspect said he, thereafter, overpowered the victim and tied her. ”I slaughtered the girl, severed her head, and also dismembered vital parts of the body, which include private part, heart, intestines and the two hands,” he said. .
.
He revealed that he later dumped the remains into a well and took the needed body parts to the herbalist. The suspect also disclosed that the killing of the hawker was his second operation, adding that he was paid N10,000 for his first assignment. .
.
The Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Ilyasu, said the arrest of Yewunu Tanlaju and two others, Olusoji Asamo and Joye Suru followed a report by the father of the deceased to the police. .
.

The removed parts were recovered from the herbalist while the ‘remaining body’ has been deposited at Ilaro General Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Army General in trouble for threatening to ‘kill’ Buhari over defence contract

A General, who is the coordinator of peace keeping in the Ministry of Defense, Lym Hassan, has been secretly recorded allegedly threatening to ‘eliminate’ Pres. Buhari over a defense contract.
.
He was arraigned before the military court on October 30, 2017 and charged with two allegations: spreading rumours that Buhari was dead and demanding $600,000 bribe from a defence contractor.
.
TheCable had reported that Buhari approved a $1,464,750 contract on September 26, 2016 for the relocation and refurbishment of Level 2 Ministry Hospital under the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilisation Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) following a directive from the UN.
.
In February 2017, the contract was awarded to Opems Integrated Concepts Ltd for $1 million for a two-month execution period ending April 2017. But the job was not done, with Nigeria failing to meet the August 2017 deadline for the relocation of the hospital.
.
The ministry of defence later issued a directive to serving military officers to go and execute the contract, which involved supply of medical equipment as well as dismantling and re-assembling the hospital at a new camp.
.
The bulk of the contract sum had allegedly been shared, and Hassan was said to have still demanded $600,000 from Opems. Unknown to Hassan, he was recorded while allegedly making the demand, sources told TheCable.
.
Asked by the contractor if he was not afraid of Buhari’s anti-corruption war, Hassan allegedly retorted: “If the president queries us, we will eliminate him.”
.

An insider in the defence ministry told TheCable: “With the charge sheet now reading that Hassan was spreading rumours that the president was dead, the game has changed. The facts of the matter have been tailored to throw him under the bus.
.
Hassan has become the scapegoat but the bulk of the contract money was shared across board. He carelessly talked himself into trouble and he will carry the can for all those who participated in the bazaar.”

Man reveals how his wife left him and their 9 kids to be with her Gambian Facebook lover

A heartbroken British husband has narrated how his wife of 23 years left him and their nine children to be with her Gambian lover she met on Facebook.
.
Andy Hepworth, 44, says his wife Heidi Hepworth, 44, ditched him for 30-year-old Mamadou Jallow from Gambia after she started chatting with strangers online.
.
According to the heartbroken man, who feels his wife has been brainwashed, says she’s now asking for a divorce, saying her future is with Mamadou.
.
He said she gave herself new treats, including getting new tattoos, giving herself a makeover, then flew to Gambia last month, her first ever trip out of the UK – abandoning her nine children and starting a new life with Mamadou.
.
Speaking to the Sun UK, the devasted husband said: “It’s a midlife crisis. She started going to the gym, booking sunbeds, getting tattoos and wearing dresses. The person she has become is horrible. She was a loving, caring mum.
.
Now it’s like an alien has possessed her body. He has brainwashed her. It’s one big fantasy for her and she is following it through step by step.”
.
Andy and Heidi met in the 1990s and were together 23 years. The couple has six children together and Andy has raised three children Heidi had from a previous marriage as his own.
.

He added: “It felt like my heart had been ripped out. I loved her. We were always a rock solid. But I think it’s over. She’s said and done too much. A caring mum wouldn’t go off gallivanting around Africa with her new boyfriend.”

I used to take codeine, other hard drugs. I couldn’t boast of N1m in 2016 – Toyin Abraham

Actress Toyin Abraham has opened up on her past when she abused hard drugs like marijuana and codeine, and was involved in other vices. She made the disclosure at the 2017 edition of Success Story Africa, held in Lagos, on Sunday.
.
“You need to stop bad habits. I was involved in a lot of vices and it became worse last year,” PremiumTimes quoted her as saying at the event. “I did drugs and I am not ashamed to say it because it’s now a thing of the past.
.
They say codeine makes you high; I took a lot. I smoked a lot and I didn’t even know I looked horrible, because I was so skinny. If you came to my house last year, you would meet a lot of people and you wont want to leave because we smoked, gossiped about people and what have you.”
.
According to PremiumTimes, she also talked about the mistakes she has made in the entertainment industry and how she has not let the negativity shape her. “I made a lot of mistakes when I began acting and that was because I did not have plans. I just wanted to be known.
.
But, I now know that being popular isn’t the same thing as being successful. When I got into the industry and the fame became too much, I became irresponsible. I could not boast of N1 million in 2016. I was making money and I wanted to feel among.
.

When one of our colleagues bought a car, it was trouble because we all strove to buy the same car or a bigger one. I had to change my circle for good and this change started in March 2017.”

Photos: The deplorable state of a primary school in Sapele, Delta State

Comrade Wisdom, Chief Editor of Sapele Olofofo News Agency, has written an open letter to the Commissioner for Education in Delta State and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, on the deplorable state of Eyietan Primary School, Sapele. Read below:
DEPLORABLE STATE OF EYIETAN PRIMARY SCHOOL, SAPELE.
Permit me to bring to your notice the current state of Eyietan Primary School. This is a government owned primary school located along the stretch extension of Mission Road, Sapele, Delta State.
While I commend the effort of the state government together with the the intervention of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) and all other academic adjoining bodies for the construction of new class room blocks and provision of modern educational aiding facilities, I must in same vane not fail to point out, that Eiyetan Primary School is the worse of all state primary school in Sapele, Delta State.
Our team visited the school premises yesterday Friday the 10th Day of November 2017, I must confess that what we saw is far worse than an eyesaw, as seen in the photos attached to this article. for God sake how can a oil rich state like ours abandon a school this way, should we be told that education is one of the key to economic growth and as such must be giving keen attention above others
I am using this medium to call on the state government to act quickly so as to re-fix this school.
There is no way a pupil can do well in such ugly circumstances
The Aiyetan Primary School in Sapele Local Government is a good study guide on how most public schools in Delta state have suffered untold decay and negligence.
The school has shortage of staff and regrettably there is no staff room for teachers who cluster in the corridors as their official office. It is always horrible for the teachers any time it rains as they normally run helter-skelter for cover.
Worse still, the dilapidated structure currently used as classrooms in is disheartening , is more or less, like a mad man's abode. The roofing sheets are corrugated and shattered, the floor is not properly paved and the open classrooms which are highly disorganised follow one another without any form of decency , they do not provide any good atmosphere for studies.
No toilet for staffs and pupils. The whole thing stinks. The school looks more or less like a poultry farm, a close look at some of the classrooms show there are no blackboards to teach the pupils, the classes are built without a blackboard, this is the extent education has gone down in Delta state.
As funny as this may sound, it is the gospel truth as any one in doubt can go and find out his or herself.
It is the wish of the pupils of this school to enjoy conducive atmosphere of studies so that they can be taught well and pass their exams with good marks.
To this effect, I am appealing to the Executive Governor, Delta State, Sen Dr Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa the Commissioner for Education to consider the issue of this very school as a matter of urgency from imminent collapse.
The entire place is stinking and the only thing the government can do now is to act quickly.

Photos: Three children tortured and abandoned in Akwa Ibom are all smiles two weeks after they were rescued

Danish aid worker Anja shared the story of three children who were tortured and abandoned in Akwa Ibom.
The children, Evelyn, Queen and 4-year-old Abraham were rescued two weeks ago and are doing well.
                                           Below is her Facebook post...
"I have been in Denmark for 2 weeks now. The day I left Nigeria David Emmanuel Umem got a phonecall about a serious case of torture and abandonment of 3 young children
David reacted fast and went on a rescue together with our “Education Officer” Don Udowan and our “Child Development Officer” Nsidibe Orok. After help from the local chief in the village the children were spotted and brought to safety at “Land of Hope”
The case has been reported to the local police and is under investigation. The torture of one of the children was so severe that the child was taken to hospital immediately after the rescue. I was so sick to my bones when I saw the pictures of the torture !!!
This is also a reason for us not to go public about the rescue before now where the children are recovering
?
So let me present to you our 3 new angels now safe and surrounded by love and care at “Land of Hope” by the best team in the world
Abraham
Evelyn
Queen
Abraham is only 4 years old!!! Just look at him, such a sweet little pumpkin Hope and Abraham are already good friends and soon David Jr. will join the team"

Italian priest blames underage girl who was raped by African migrant, says she asked for itDoctors in Sokoto state have given a middle-aged man a second lease of life after performing a high-risk operation on him. The man was rushed to the hospital after his friend stabbed him in the neck during an argument in Isa local government area in Sokoto state on Thursday, November 9th. The doctors led by Dr. Aminu Garba Alhazzai performed the surgery on the man. He is currently recuperating at the General Hospital in Sokoto. See graphic photos of the man with the knife stuck in his neck below.

Lorenzo Guidotti, a parish priest in Bologna, Italy has prompted outrage for blaming an underage girl, who was raped by an African man, saying that it was her fault for getting drunk and hanging around with immigrants.
"I'm sorry but if you swim in the piranha tank you cannot complain if you lose a limb," Guidotti, wrote on Facebook.
According to Italian media reports, in a lengthy rant he chastised the underage girl, who had told police she had been raped by a North African man she had met in the city while drunk.
She said she was attacked by him and woke up later, half naked and with her bag gone.
"Sweetie, I'm sorry, but... you get revoltingly drunk... and then who do you go off with? A North African?" the priest said in the post, which was published by Italy's main papers on their websites.
"Do you understand that, along with the alcohol, you've gulped down the ideological tirade about 'welcoming everyone'?" he said in a reference to those who support Italy giving needy migrants shelter.
"Darling, at this point, waking up semi-naked is the least that could happen to you," he added.
The Facebook post was only visible to Guidotti's friends, but was picked up and published by Radio Citta del Capo on its website, from where it went viral.
The Bologna archdiocese distanced itself from the priest, saying his opinion "in no way reflects that of the Church, which condemns every sort of violence".
Guidotti first claimed he had not been attacking the girl personally, just "trying to make kids and their parents think".
According to La Repubblica daily, he later apologised unreservedly to the victim and her family.
