United States launches first airstrike against ISIS in Somalia

United States launches first airstrike?against ISIS in Somalia
The United States command in African issued a statement today saying it conducted two separate airstrikes targeting ISIS militants in northeastern Somalia for the first time.

While the results of the strikes are still being assessed, Africa Command said "several" terrorists were killed with the strikes carried out by an unmanned drone.

Samantha Reho, a spokesperson for Africa Command said "US forces will continue to use all authorized and appropriate measures to protect Americans and to disable terrorist threats,"

That includes partnering with the African Union Mission in Somalia and Somali National Security Forces, "targeting terrorists, their training camps and safe havens throughout Somalia, the region and around the world."

The strikes mark the first time the US has targeted ISIS in a country in the Horn of Africa that has been beset by violence and a barely functioning central government for years. It also comes the same day President Donald Trump told reporters the US military would dramatically ramp up military operations against the terrorist group following an attack in New York earlier this week by a man claiming allegiance to ISIS.

Photo: Two Kenya Airways cabin attendants arrested as they prepare to ferry 40kg of narcotics to Lagos, Nigeria
Two Kenya Airways (KQ) staff were Thursday, November 2, arrested at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) with 40kg of narcotics believed to be heroin.
Alfric Otieno and Lennox Chestit, both KQ cabin attendants, were arrested during a sting operation by detectives as they prepared to ferry the narcotics to Lagos, Nigeria, aboard Kenya Airways flight KQ542.
Intelligence revealed that the drugs had been put on board by Kenneth Sinzore, a KQ luggage handler who was also arrested.
Head of Anti-Narcotic Police Unit Hamisi Masa said the two men were arrested early Thursday morning, about 15 minutes to their flight.
“They are being held as verification of the substance goes on,” said Mr Masa.
In a parallel operation, the detectives found a residential house used by a drug trafficking cartel as a store for narcotics. The house, located in Savannah Phase IV estate, is the residence of Austin Obinwanne Igwilo, a Nigerian who police say is at the centre of the drug ring.
The detectives recovered more drugs wrapped in a similar manner as the consignment found at the airport. The Nigerian came to Kenya in November 2016.
After his arrest, Mr Igwilo implicated Chadwick Dondi Okoth, a former Kenya Airways worker who in March this year was suspended after being found in possession of $17,000 (Sh1.8 million) while returning to Kenya on official duty. Police said they suspected that he could have been involved in narcotics trafficking all along.
Despite his suspension, Mr Okoth maintained contact with former colleagues at the airport and managed to recruit in-flight attendants to act as drug mules. According to police, the crew has on several occasions successfully transported drugs to various destinations (unknown to the management of the national carrier). Police who searched Okoth’s home in Fedha estate recovered more narcotics packed and ready for shipment to various destinations.
A similar operation against members of the same syndicate carried out at JKIA on October 13 led to the arrest of two other flight attendants and the seizure of 4kg of heroin.
According to the police, the other members of the syndicate assumed that attention had shifted from the airport following the earlier operation.
However, Masa told the press that vigilance at Kenya’s largest airport is at its highest and no criminal activity would go unnoticed.
Police have intensified surveillance at the airport after it emerged that drug trafficking was committed in collusion with airline staff.

Jose Mourinho appears in court to testify over tax fraud allegations

Jose Mourinho appears in court to testify?over tax fraud allegations
On Friday, Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho was grilled by a judge in Spain over accusations of a 3.3 million euro ($3.8 million) tax fraud during his time in charge of Real Madrid in 2011 and 2012.

After leaving the brief closed-door hearing, the 54-year-old told reporters he had paid everything he owed to the Spanish tax office.

Speaking outside the court in Pozuelo de Alarcon, he said “I left Spain in 2013 with the conviction that my fiscal situation was perfectly legal”.

“Two years later I was told that an investigation had been opened and that to regularise my situation I had to pay a certain amount. I did not debate it, did not appeal it, I paid and I signed an agreement of compliance with the state. Everything was settled. This is why I was here for just five minutes to say the same things I am telling you. I have nothing more to say” he said.

His court appearance comes just over 48 hours before he is set to return to Stamford Bridge to face old side Chelsea on Sunday.

Spanish prosecutors accuse Mourinho, who coached Madrid between 2010 and 2013, of failing to declare income of 1.6 million euros in 2011 and 1.7 million euros in 2012.  The basis for the case, as with a series of football stars based in Spain, is how income from Mourinho’s image rights was managed and declared.  Prosecutors believe by ceding his image rights to a series of companies based in tax havens, Mourinho committed fraud by not declaring the income those companies made from his image rights.

8 employees of 'House Of Cards' accuse Kevin Spacey of sexual misconduct

8 employees of
Now more people are coming out to accuse actor, Kevin Spacey of sexual misconduct.

One former employee who spoke with CNN says Spacey sexually assaulted him and made the set of Netflix's "House of Cards" into a "toxic" work environment through a pattern of sexual harassment.

All eight people, each of whom spoke to CNN on the condition of anonymity for fear of professional repercussions for speaking out, described Spacey's behavior as "predatory," saying it included nonconsensual touching and crude comments and targeted production staffers who were typically young and male.

The new accusations follow an explosive article published less than a week ago by BuzzFeed News, in which actor Anthony Rapp said Spacey made sexual advances toward him in 1985, when Rapp was 14 years old.

A former female production assistant who worked on several seasons of "House of Cards" said she witnessed Spacey's sexual misconduct with crew members on set.
"It was very known that Kevin was inappropriate, and males I worked with complained to me about how they felt uncomfortable," she said. "Kevin does this thing which was play fights with them in order to touch them." She said she saw Spacey approach "multiple people" to "say hello, greet them, shake their hand and pull their hand down to his crotch and touch their crotch. I have friends say he reached up their shorts on set."

Spacey also made sexually-charged comments on set, according to a former crew member. "There was one instance [when] a grip bent over to pick something up and his ass crack was showing, and Kevin Spacey made a sexual comment about it," he recalled, adding that the comment Spacey made was "nice ass."

The allegations about Spacey also come as the entertainment world is reckoning with fallout from the Harvey Weinstein sexual harassment scandal. Dozens of women have accused him of sexual harassment and police are investigating assault claims. Weinstein has apologized for his behavior, but he denies all allegations of nonconsensual sex.

'Enough is enough! Are we the ones paying for the 2019 election?' - Caroline Danjuma slams Lekki concession centre's plan to increase toll gate fare

The Lekki Concession Centre have informed Lagos motorists of their plan to increase the fare on Admiralty toll gate and Lekki-Ikoyi Link bridge toll gate from November 8th 2017.
Musa Danjuma's ex-wife, Caroline is however not having it and is calling on Nigerians to join her in a peaceful protest against the government, as she feels low income earners working on the Island can't afford it and they're not supposed to be indirectly extorted to pay for the 2019 election. According to her,

On my out of Lekki this morning I received this notifying me that within 4 days there will be an increment to the toll gate tariff.. The question is what do this Govt take the citizens for.. ATM machines they can collect from at will??.. things are extremely tough in this country for the lay man . Suicidal rate is extremely high .. Drug abuse is now a norm because people are trying to get high to get away from the pain, leading to the deaths of young vibrant youths in the society .
I would like to know in details and statistics what the government uses our taxes for . 1. The hard currency rate is still increasing against the Naira.. this alone affects business's both existing and new .. a lot of companies have gone further to let go of their staff due to the fact they can't meet up with the expenses , some have even gone as far as closing down . Unemployment is extremely high, kids are out of school , innovation is halted , no capital to run it .
2. If this increment is for the refurbishment of state hospitals , are we going to get free medicals with our NHS number? Last time I went to LUTH I had to buy the doctor literally everything including hand gloves before he could operate on the man I volunteered to help .
3. Is it to rebrand the police force? Will they have better accommodation than the deplorable one they live in now? Will they be well equipped and well trained? Will they be paid a substantial salary which will stop them from collecting bribes on the road?
4. Will all these taxes be used to build rehabs and homes for the homeless? Pls note that NGO's are operated by individuals n not the Gov. We pay all sorts of taxes in this country with very few accounted for , all the government does is create new ways of taking money from the masses and at their own will, they impose it without a care in the world . With this new tariff, there will be increment in transportation fare, resulting to increase in salary . More buisness will close down , more people will be jobless , more people will be prone to suicide and drug abuse , people can hardly pay for their rent.

Shiraishi admitted that he killed the eight women and one man in just two months. All had expressed suicidal thoughts and he lured them to his apartment with offers of help to die, it is believed.
Police in Tokyo were investigating the disappearance of a 23-year-old woman when they discovered Shiraishi's 'house of horrors'.
The bodies had been chopped up and were being stored in separate coolers.

Shriaishi has reportedly confessed all, telling police some of the killings were motivated by rape and others by money. He stole around 500,000 yen (around £3,300) from one victim.
Police have already recovered 240 bones from the small apartment.
Shiraishi told officers: "I couldn't throw away (the bodies) out of fear for being caught."
He said he dismembered the bodies in the bathroom using a saw which has also been recovered.

The serial killing spree took place over just two months between August and September.
The horrific case came to light after a 23-year-old woman disappeared. After reporting her missing, her brother began looking at her social media accounts and noticed that she had posted a message on Twitter which said she was "looking for someone who will die with me."
The message said she "wants to die, but is scared of dying alone."
Shiraishi was captured on CCTV walking near his apartment with the missing woman.

Niger Delta Avengers says, 'we are back and will not spare anything or anyone on our path to actualize a united Niger Delta'

Niger Delta Avengers says,
Nigerian militant group Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) has just issued a statement on its official website signed by its spokesperson Maj. Gen Murdoch Agbinibo.

The new statement says the Niger Delta Avenger's cease fire on operation 'Red Economy' is officially over and it will not spare anything or anyone on its path to actualize a united and free Niger Delta.

Read the full statement below...
The High Command of the Niger Delta Avengers wishes to bring to the notice of the International Community and the general public that there is no such militant group with the nomenclature, "Reformed Niger Delta Avengers"; it is not operated by any of our operatives but a money making tool in the hands of certain disgruntled Niger Deltan political jobbers in connivance with top government functionaries of the Buhari led Nigerian Government.

The Intelligence Unit of the NDA has gathered from our sources in the Nigerian Government that the operatives of the said Reformed Niger Delta Avengers are some fraudsters from the Niger Delta region working with government functionaries like the office of the Director General of DSS, office of National Security Adviser and office of the Minister of Transport. The chain of Niger Delta fraudsters is which been led by one Richard Akinaka, Myke Loyibo and Famous Daunumugha and a host of others; has vowed to stop at nothing until they help the Nigerian Government to jeopardize the sincere efforts of the Niger Delta People at Economic, Social and Political freedom.

To the elders of the Niger Delta, PANDEF, we warned you against the antics of the Nigerian Government yet you requested a chance to broker a new vision for our people; we told you and the rest of the world that the Nigerian Government is only interested in our oil wells and not our well being yet you told us the signs are different this time around.

Instead of allowing us to continue our quest to bring the Nigerian economy to our targeted zero daily production, which recorded huge success; you threatened us with Tompolo to stop the struggle; out of respect for elders and not to the threat of Tompolo we adhered the call and halted our strike actions hoping you (PANDEF) would keep your own side of the bargain.

The question to Tompolo and the PANDEF is to tell us what progress they achieved since we heeded your retrogressive call,  to whose benefit is the move by Tompolo and the Niger Delta elders to impede a mission sanctioned by our ancestors and the Almighty?

Tompolo, we want you to know that we never started this struggled with the intent of living forever but with our lives already offered for a sacrifice for a better Niger Delta. We invite you to come after us with your total force as we are no longer ready to heed uninspiring advise from you or anyone else in the Niger Delta Region.

We have since lost faith in you (Tompolo) and PANDEF and have vowed never to heed any such retrogressive call or advise from you in the future; the recent disruption of the PANDEF 4th National Assembly by the Nigerian Government is the final evidence we needed to conclude that the Federal Government of Nigeria reserves not even a iota of respect for you (Tompolo) and the Niger Delta Elders as the position of the Nigerian Government is made emphatically known to the Niger Delta People that it's ONLY interest remains the flow of oil from our region to the Central Bank of Nigeria. We want to make it known to the PANDEF and the Nigeria government that our call for halt on "Operation Red Economy" is officially over.

Some of us can still remember those good old days in camp 5 when you (Tompolo) were the general of Generals,  you told us (the young combatants) then, that "we are the future of the total emancipation of the Niger Delta, that we should also know we are not  fighting for ourselves rather we are fighting for the next generation". Sometimes we wonder where that charismatic General of Generals, has gone to. We bet, only you can answer dat question. We still believe in you but we are sorry,  like you said 10yrs ago "we are the future of the total emancipation of our people"; and we have since chosen this path and never back out until the total emancipation of our people is achieved.

We have just concluded head count of our operatives across the Country; we are pleased to announce that all our operatives are intact and focused; ready to implement instructions from the High Command of the NDA in the going few days.

To the Nigerian Government, we are aware of Egina FPSO built in South Korea by Samsung to be operated by Total Nigeria is one of the biggest FPSO built in South Korea has started it's voyage to the oil fields of the Niger Delta to further exploit us while our concerns are left unattended. We are presently tracking and monitoring it's movement; and God willing it shall not operate successfully in amidst the return of the fury of the Niger Delta Avengers.

Message to the Oil Companies; Our next line of operation will not be like the 2016 campaign which we operated successfully without any casualties; this outing will be brutish, brutal and bloody, as we are shall crush everything we meet on our path to completely put off the fires that burn to flair gas in our communities and cut every pipe that moves crude away from our region. We can assure you that every oil installation in our region will feel warmth of the wrath of the Niger Delta Avengers.

To you the operators of the social media Avengers (RNDA), be reminded that the Niger Delta Avengers are not the same as the toothless and cowardly MEND; we are men of our words and may it resonance in thy ears and deep down your bowels and that of your partner's in government whose interest is the suffering of the people of the Niger Delta that we (The Niger Delta Avengers) are back and will not spare anything or anyone on our path to actualize a united and free Niger Delta.

According to John F Kennedy; Those who make peaceful  revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.

Hawaii judge orders man to write 144 “nice” things about his ex-girlfriend for sending her 144 “nasty” text messages

Hawaii judge orders man to write 144 ??nice? things ?about his ex-girlfriend?for sending her 144 ?nasty? text messages
A female Hawaii judge of Maui 2nd Circuit, Rhonda Loo, recently handed down an unorthodox sentence to a man to write 144 compliments to his ex-girlfriend, in response to the 144 “nasty” text messages that he is accused of sending her.
According to the APreports, Daren Young pleaded no contest to violating a protection order preventing him from contacting his ex-girlfriend.
“For every nasty thing you said about her, you’re going to say a nice thing,” Loo told Young. “No repeating words.”
It was learned that in February, he was ordered to stop contacting his ex. But two months later he ignored the order. He called and texted her 144 times over the span of about three hours.
Maui News reported that he was then arrested and jailed 157 days in prison.
At his unusual sentencing on Friday, Young received time served and was placed on two years probation. Loo also slapped him with $2,400 in fines and 200 hours of community service, alongside the writing assignment.
“I don’t know whether I should cut off your fingers or take away your phone to get you to stop texting.”
“It’s so childish to think a grown man can be so thumb-happy,” Loo told Young in court. “I hope you don’t have a phone anymore and, if you do, I hope you don’t have her number anymore.”
Over the years, a few number of justices have made headlines for their unusual sentences.
Ohio Judge Michael Cicconetti once ordered two 19-year-olds to lead a donkey through the streets with a sign that said “Sorry for the jackass offense” after vandalizing a Nativity scene.
While Texas Judge Mike Peters in 2004, sentenced a woman to 30 days in jail for starving two horses. On the first three days in prison, he ordered that she only be served bread and water.
“She’s going to get more than her horses got,” Peters said.
