'The 1999 constitution is a satanic document' - Prof. Ben Okaba

Proffesor Benjamin Okaba, a university lecturer, yesterday described the 1999 constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria as satanic document which must be set aside for the country to move forward.

Okaba who is contesting for the President of Ijaw National Congress (INC) was in Akure to meet with the ljaws in the state said that the
“Nigeria must go back to the 1963 constitution in order to address the cry of marginalization by every segment of the country. Okaba who also met with an ljaw leader who is the state Commissioner for Lands and Housing in Ondo State, Donald Ojogo said the Niger Delta part of the country is marginalized in the scheme of things.
The lecturer at Federal University of Otuoke in Bayelsa State said
“Resource control remains the minimum condition for peace and unity of this country. Resource control remains the minimum prerequisite for equity and justice. I belief if this country wants to know peace, we must go back to our 1963 constitutional framework which is restructuring. In doing do, we allow each region to annex its resources and pay tax to the federal government. We need devolution of power so that each region grows at its own pace with little or no support from Federal Government. It will enable some competition from the federating units.”
Okaba lamented marginalization of the Niger Delta people. According to him
“The Niger Delta is marginalized by the Federal Government. Inasmuch as the political architecture remains like this, we are already marginalized. How many Local Governments do we have in the South South? Look at the National Assembly, how many representatives do we have compared to others? It is skewed in favour of the North. Until 1999 constitution which I call satanic document is set aside and we have federal constitution where the ideas of all the good people are considered and we recognize our strength, our weaknesses and come together and develop at our own pace, annex our resources and stop depending on oil which is vanishing. We will always have crisis” Okaba said he would make INC a grassroots platform to fight for the emancipation of Ijaw nation and ensure resource control if elected. According to him ” we planned to make INC people’s driven organization, forge unity among the people and build a credible think-tank that would ensure that there is greater prosperity.

Pirates kidnap captain and crew members of a German owned ship in Port Harcourt
Six crew members, including the Captain of a German-owned container ship, have been kidnapped in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, maritime security operatives said.
The Sea Guardian consultancy said the Demeter “was attacked by pirates” at about 7:00 am on Saturday in Port Harcourt.
“Pirates boarded the ship, kidnapped six crew, including (the) master, chief officer, second officer, second engineer, bosun and cook,”
Reports suggested the attack was carried out by eight pirates in a black speedboat.
The Demeter had been travelling from the capital of Equatorial Guinea, Malabo, to Monrovia, Liberia at the time.
The MTI Network, a crisis communications firm that deals with incidents in the shipping industry, said the attack happened as the ship entered the port of Onne.
“All of the 12 remaining seafarers of the Demeter are safe and unhurt and the vessel has proceeded to safe waters,” it said in a statement.
Peter Doehle Group, owners of the Liberia-flagged vessel, said it would not disclose the nationalities of the crew members taken “for security reasons”.

"Dear Mr. President, you don't bite, you don't gnash not to even talk of barking" - Man who named his son after Buhari pens letter expressing disappointment and hope

A staunch supporter of President Buhari, Abdullahi Haruna took to Facebook to express his disappointment with his administration. Read his post below...
Dear Mr. President,
I am one of your unapologetic admirers. I went all the way to advocate for your emergence. I lost friendships and resources promoting your candidature. In fact, I named my son after you; I call him Muhammadu Buhari - all these I did because I wholeheartedly believe in you. Everyday I pray for your success, I pray for your good health - I spend energy defending your actions even in the face of obvious indefensible template.
I am dangerously linked to your person and ideology that I can take a bullet for you. However, recently manifestations from your desk has left me somewhat helpless and deflated. You are demystifying the phenomenal brand called Muhammadu Buhari. Laxity and overt complacency is taking over your fascinating antecedents. You are withering away your goodwill so fast.
Your 'democratic' stance is not helping the wheel of governance. You are leaving too a wide room for indolence. Your lieutenants are abusing responsibilities while you watch them in helpless mien. You give task without following them up, you give executive orders and they are left weak, non obeyed and dead. You don't bite, you don't gnash not to even talk of barking. You leave every inactions to fate forgetting that nothing works when in natural state.
The legs around you are motionless, they only move in the direction of their personal interests. They flaunt your orders, undermine your power and kill your vision. They are not anywhere in tandem with your vision. The only people that propagate your vision are die hard adherents like us, the rest are today's men responding to the pendulum of chance and opportunities.
My President, you must wake up and begin to bite, you may even crush in my own desire. Things are getting pretty bad because of your inaction. Allowing nepotism, corruption and impunity to thrive right under your nose is the worst calamity that can befall a nation. Your garment of honor and integrity is at the verge of being stained and shredded by the hawks around you. Allowing this to happen is a dent to our personality because we have sold you to high heavens, placing you over and above everyday mortals.
I still have this huge hope in your capacity to right the wrongs of governance. I want a rejuvenated you in the fight against corruption. Stop piling up reports on corrupt persons, stop using deodorant for looters and usurpers. Make known that which is hidden and increase the tempo of shaming the shamed. Like your breakthrough in security, economy, infrastructure, nip in the bud the ugly narratives of corruption, cabalism, nepotism and impunity.
Make me proud as a buharist, make me walk in raised shoulders, let your legacies be my pride. All these I ask not in mischief but in demonstration of my stance as a patriotic citizen.
Helplessly musing.

Signed,
Abdullahi O Haruna Haruspice
On behalf of Concerned Buharists.

Assault case against Meek Mill has been dropped

Assault case against Meek Mill has been dropped
Back in March, Meek Mill was charged with misdemeanor assault after he allegedly got into an altercation with an employee at St. Louis International Airport.

Now, his lawyers have gotten the case dropped. Meek's attorney Joe Tacopina revealed that Meek was able to come to a deal with his prosecutors, and it was pretty straightforward. If Meek agreed to complete some community service, then his case would be dismissed. Meek completed his community service at Philadelphia's Veterans Association, so that's that.

Just weeks ago, Meek Mill took a deal for his reckless driving charges in New York City. Now all he has to do is avoid any legal issues for six months, and that arrest will be wiped clean from his record.

Teacher is arrested for molesting 42 boys at the school he taught and exposing them all to HIV

Teacher is arrested for molesting 42 boys at the school he taught and exposing them all to HIV
A former school aide and coach in Maryland has been arrested for sexually assaulting 42 boys.
30-year-old Carlos Bell, who is HIV positive, worked as an instructional assistant at Benjamin Stoddert Middle School and track coach at La Plata High School. He sexually assaulted about 42 boys who are between 11 and 17 years old and the assaults happened from May 2015 to June 2017. He was taken into custody in July for child pornography and sexually assaulting male students.
Police began their investigation in December after a parent found inappropriate text messages on her son’s cell phone. A search of Bell’s home computer turned up child porn, including images of him allegedly having sex with a boy inside a classroom at Benjamin Stoddert, NBC reports. Carlos later told police that he is HIV positive and has been for the past two years. Authorities have not said whether any of the victims contracted the disease.
Investigators said the assaults happened at his home, on school property and possibly other locations. The State's Attorney's Office for Charles County indicted Mr Bell on 206 counts. The indictment covers 28 identified alleged victims and 14 unidentified victims. The indictment includes allegations stemming from incidents on June 30 and July 28 and charges for additional alleged victims police found following an investigation.
Bell no longer works at Benjamin Stoddert or La Plata. Authorities said he was also employed at McDonough High School in Pomfret and J.P. Ryon Elementary in Waldorf.
Charles County Superintendent Kimberly Hill previously said in a statement: "In an organization that is all about our children, these allegations are horrifying. To our parents and our community, who put their faith and trust in us to safeguard their children, I apologize on behalf of Charles County Public Schools."
If convicted, Carlos faces life in prison.
