Mom who refused to undergo cancer treatment due to pregnancy dies 3 days after giving birth

A mother who refused to undergo cancer treatment while she was pregnant so as save her baby's life died three days after the baby was born.
Carrie DeKlyen, 37, from Michigan, passed away early on Saturday morning. Carrie had been in a coma since July and gave birth to her sixth child at 24 weeks pregnant, then died three days after. The baby has been named Life Lynn.
Carrie was diagnosed with glioblastoma, a rapidly growing tumor that can affect the brain and spinal cord, in April. Undergoing chemotherapy would have forced her to terminate the pregnancy. She reportedly qualified to be in a University of Michigan clinical trial for her cancer that doctors said might have extended her life another 10 to 20 years, however, she and her husband declined because they are Christians and wanted to give their child a chance to live.
Her husband, Nick DeKlyen told The Detroit Free Press: "We’re pro-life. Under no circumstance do we believe you should take a child's life. She sacrificed her life for the child."
The couple has five other children ranging in age from 2 to 18 years old. With the new addition to the family, there are now six kids. Baby Lynn Life Lynn was born on Wednesday at 1 pound and 4 ounces and Carrie's feeding and breathing tubes were removed the next day.
Sonya Nelson, Carrie’s sister-in-law, told "Carrie was the most amazing, selfless person I have ever met.  We all feel extremely sad right now, but we know we will see her again."

Photos: Man almost lynched by angry mob after his wife returned from vigil and found him raping their 11-year-old twin daughter

Police rescued a 37-year-old man from an angry mob which descended on him after news spread throughout the village in Uganda, that he raped one of his daughters.

Ssalongo Christopher Kityo, a fisherman operating at Gerenge landing site, in Nalugala Parish, Katabi Town Council, was on Tuesday arrested for defiling his 11-year-old twin daughter, a pupil at Cherish Uganda Primary School.

Kityo was allegedly caught in the act by his 26-year-old wife Lydia Namiiro (pictured) the mother of the twins when she returned home from a vigil in the neighbourhood in the wee hours of Tuesday morning only to find Kityo drunk and stark naked.

The victim narrated her ordeal to her mother. Namiiro immediately informed one Allen of the village security team who in turn contacted the OC Mpala Police Post, Joseph Ssekitoleko.
By the time Ssekitoleko and his team arrived, a mob had already ganged up and beaten Kityo.
Bruised and battered, he was later whisked away to Entebbe General Hospital for treatment before being taken back to Mpala Police Post, to record a statement.

Namiiro who looks after her family by doing several odd jobs including fetching firewood and doing laundry said that her little girls confided in her that their father has always sexually molesting them.
"Even our eldest girl who was born HIV negative, later contracted the virus and she is currently on ARVs courtesy of her dad," narrated Namiiro adding that Kityo refused to start anti-retroviral treatment.

When asked to comment on the allegations, Kityo denied defiling his daughter claiming that his wife carefully planned the whole incident in order to grab his plot of land.

Ssekitoleko condemned the act and revealed that Kityo will be charged with aggravated defilement under SD Ref: 07/1/09/2017.

America’s Got Talent: I Might Not Make It Far- Kechi Okwuchi

Jennifer Okundia
Kechi Okwuchi, the Sosoliso plane crash survivor and singer who is currently in the Semi-Finals of the America’s Got Talent 2017 competition yesterday had an interactive session with her followers on Instagram and one of the questions she was asked was if she feels she would win the competition.
Read what she wrote below:
“It would be amazing to make it to top 10 but honestly if I make it that far, I think that is probably where I might stop just because I feel there are some people there who are good. There are a lot of singers and a lot of us know how to sing. I am so grateful to get this far but I feel like if I win it might be a little unfair because I don’t want people to vote for me based on my story and how much they like me and feel they are inspired by me.
The main part of the show is the talent part and there are such amazing people that have amazing talents and I feel some of them may be more deserving. So, then again you never know, God’s plans are not our plans and he can see further than we can so I don’t want to go and say something that might counter what he has planned. Lets just say what will happen will happen. Let it just be what God wants” she said.
Kechi also relieved her memory about the air crash that changed her life forever
“I remember bits and pieces. I don’t remember the impact of the plane because that must have been when I blanked out or something. I remember being on the plane and feeling like everything was fine and I was with my friend who lived next door to me. I remember when the pilot made the announcement that we would be landing like 20 minutes at the airport that we would be heading to. I remember when the plane started really getting crazy and the turbulence started getting like way too much. I remember feeling this out of body experience. It looked like a movie. I remember holding my friend’s hands and she was asking what we should do like should we pray or something. Then there was this loud weird metal sound and I woke up in the hospital five weeks later in South Africa. There were 109 passengers on the plane and 60 of them were fellow students from my school. I was in a boarding school. Two people survived. Myself and the other lady that I did not know before the plane crash” she said.
