Every time I look back at that horrible night I break down in tears - Kenyan woman recalls the harrowing loss of two of her triplet

Mukami Mwaura, the wife of Kenyan Senator Isaac Mwaura has penned a revealing article about the loss of their two babies.
On her blog, Mukami Speaks, Mukami disclosed the horror she went through the first time she laid eyes on her triplets.
The couple’s triplets were delivered prematurely and stayed in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for 11 weeks before two of them died.
"On the day I gave birth, my husband was in state of shock and sadness," said Mukami.
“As I stated before my babies were born on 19th Jan 2017 at roughly 10am, this was on a Thursday. I woke up a few hours later to find a lot of happiness in the room from my mum, my sister, my mother in law and a few friends.
“My husband seemed to be in a state of shock and a bit of sadness. I just thought it was the shock of the whole incident but I would later discover the reason of his sadness was because he had seen the children as they were being rushed to NICU.
“I was not able to see my babies until later in the evening as I was transferred to the main maternity ward which was next to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. I was helped out of my bed at around 8pm. The Cs wound was super painful, I never imagined such pain existed.
“So we walked slowly into the NICU. It had a sign board written “staff only”, parents to the babies were the only ones allowed inside apart from staff so my husband led the way.

“Let me start by saying that the NICU is the worst place for any child to begin their life. I salute the staff who work there because it’s not a pretty sight. For the longest time I have blocked the memories of this first night because it was horrible.
“Seeing your child/children for the first time should be a joyous occasion but for me it was one night that I hope to forget. Every time I look back at this night I feel so helpless and disappointed and I can’t help but break down in tears.
“I never want to go through this again. It was a feeling of shock, disbelief coupled by feelings of failure, failure as a mother. I had failed my children, my body had failed me, so many questions ran through my mind when I remember this night.
“We began with triplet number one (Mwaura Jr) who was at the furthest corner of the first room, then triplet 2 (Njiru) and 3 (Njeri) who were together on neighboring incubators. Small is an understatement , my babies were tiny ,a bit wrinkled and covered in cotton wool wrapped in polythene bags to keep them extra warm .
“They were all intubated and on life support. I was sure this were not my children, they were white with a lot of black hair. They did not look like babies. I immediately felt like running away. Why was I here? These are not my children.
“I asked my husband if he was sure they did not confuse them with somebody else’s children. These are not my children…. by now tears were flowing freely …one of the NICU nurses who was on duty that night came and held our hands to comfort us.
“She told us that the one single thing our babies needed was our strength. They needed to know that we believe they will be better .We asked her if they will be better .She told us that the doctors and nurses will do the best but God does the healing.
"My head was spinning at this point. These are not my babies, at some point I really wanted to wake up from this bad dream. I looked around and I noticed for the first time other children in the room, some were small while others were bigger than my babies but they all seemed to be fighting.
“NICU is an awful place but it’s also a place where you learn a lot, NICU is a room filled with the smallest fighters. There is a lot of defeat and winning. For the 11 weeks my babies stayed in the NICU, I watched the tiniest people fight harder than I have ever seen.
“They fought to breath and to live, it was a fight against death. Some won the fight while others lost the fight but we still celebrate them because in the short or long time they lived, they left a great impact in our lives.
“I will be sharing about my NICU journey. A journey of strength and courage but not from me, strength from the tiny little miracles that gave us a reason to live,
“My NICU journey gave me a new outlook in life.
“My NICU journey gave me purpose.
“My NICU journey gave me wonderful friends.
“My NICU journey has given me the courage to speak out.
“My NICU journey taught me how to be still.
“My NICU journey renewed my relationship with God.

Chinese couple with seven daughters land in court for buying a baby boy for £10k (Photos)

The authority of Fengshun County in China's Guangdong has arrested and charged a Chinese couple that allegedly paid about £10,345 to purchase a baby son from strangers in order to carry on their family name.
The couple, named as Mr and Mrs Chen have been trying to have a boy for a long time but ended up at seven daughters. But due to a frustration of their 'traditional mind-set', the pair decided to splash their hard earn money to purchase a baby boy.
According to a local report, the baby boy, just over a month old, had been abducted and sold to the couple, but Mr. and Mrs. Chen who had been married for years told the court that they had not been aware of the fact.
The incident was revealed by a recent report from a programmed called 'Mingsheng 820' aired on the Meizhou Broadcasting and Television Station.
They had been trying to have a baby boy. However, all of the seven children they have are girls and they are aged between two and 18, Mr. Chen told a reporter from Meizhou TV.
The couple were said to have been introduced by acquaintances to a family who had a baby boy 'for sale'. The family had been named the Wangs.
On the 24th of November 2016, the couple travelled from their home in Shantou city to Fengshun County to meet Mr. Wang and their potential son. Mr. Chen later claimed that Mr. Wang had ensured them that the baby had not been abducted, but asked them to pay 92,000 yuan (£10,586) as the 'nutrition fee'.
On their arrival to Shantou city, they were arrested by the police from Fengshun County and were informed that the baby had been abducted and trafficked.
The report said the baby had first been sold by a couple from Yunnan to a person known as Peng. Peng later sold the baby to another person known as Wu.  It was Wu who sold the baby to Mr. and Mrs. Chen and gained a profit of around 6,500 yuan (£748).
The Fengshun People's Court has brought charges on eight people involved in the case on suspicion of human trafficking. Mr. and Mrs. Chen have also been charged with buying a child who was abducted.
The verdict for the case is yet to be announced by the court.

Three brothers and a cousin commit suicide in the space of six years , leaving their parents devastated

Two parents have been left heartbroken after their sons all killed themselves, as well as their cousin.
Patricia and Eddie Ferrin lost their sons Stephen, 31, Niall, 19, and Kieran, 24, to suicide, all in a space of six years. Their cousin Christopher also committed suicide. The heartbroken parents are left with their two daughters, having lost all their sons.
Dad-of-one Stephen Ferrin, 31, died at the weekend just days after returning home from going missing. His death was the fourth suicide to hit the Northern Irish family after his brothers Niall, 19, and Kieran, 24, took their own lives, as did their cousin, Christopher, 19.
Parents Patricia and Eddie told the Belfast Telegraph: "Stephen is a father, a brother and a son who is cherished and deeply loved and will be sadly missed by all his friends and family. He was a handsome young man, who was very witty, and who had lots and lots of friends.
"His death is devastating to us, to his friends and to the whole community and we would like to bury him with the dignity and the respect he deserves. "
Stephen was reported missing last week before being found after an appeal but he was discovered dead at home on Saturday just days after his return. Stephen is also believed to have lost five close friends to suicide.
The second son, Kieran took his own life in 2014 five months after reportedly being beaten unconscious in a vicious sectarian assault. His death came three years after brother Niall took his own life. Niall was also reported to have been the victim of a sectarian attack at the age of just 15.

Cousin Christopher's suicide in 2010 came just days after he had reportedly broken down in tears after waiting all day to see a mental health team.
Family friend Philip McTaggart, who also lost his son to suicide, told Belfast Live: "It is utterly heartbreaking. Stephen was a very pleasant young man, a very witty young man. He had lots and lots of friends. He had been going training, had been doing very well at that.
"All of a sudden I think he went into a downward spiral and he left the training and ended up leaving his job. These are all classic signs that a young man is feeling down and maybe some things had just got on top of him."
He added: "I have known the family for a lot of years. In this case, Stephen had seven friends, one cousin and two brothers that he lost to suicide. Why would this man not have been given the proper support? That is another young man who is no longer with us. Our system is broken. We’ve got to find a better way of doing this.
"And I’m not blaming nurses and I’m not blaming doctors. But there has to be a better way if somebody is vulnerable. The World Health Organisation states clearly that if somebody loses a loved one to suicide that they have a high risk of taking their own life.
"This young man didn’t lose one person, he lost two brothers, a cousin and five friends. It’s just unbelievable. My belief is that we need to call for a dedicated centre to deal with people who have mental health problems, who are vulnerable and at risk of ending their own lives."
He continued: "The wealthiest place on our island is the graveyard simply because of all those who have sadly ended their own lives. They've had wonderful gifts and talents. They could have been doctors, poets and teachers and sadly never had the opportunity to share those gifts with us.
"A father, a son, a brother is sadly no longer with them. They said that they miss their loved one Stephen and they want to bury him with respect and dignity. They wouldn't wish this upon anyone. They would encourage anyone who has issues or difficulties to talk to somebody and not to suffer in silence."
Stephen's funeral is expected to be held later this week.

SARS operatives responsible for the series of kidnappings and armed robbery attacks in Rivers- Governor Nyesom Wike alleges

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has declared that most of the kidnapping and armed robbery taking place in the state are perpetrated by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS). The governor stated that the embattled Rivers State Special Anti-robbery Squad (SARS) Commander, Mr Akin Fakorede and his operatives have been indicted by an official Police Signal, which indicated that they are responsible for the series of kidnapping and deadly robbery across the state.
Addressing journalists at the Government House Port Harcourt today, Governor Wike stated that the SARS Commander was planted in the state to sabotage the security architecture of the state and create an atmosphere of fear. He said that criminal activities of Mr Fakorede were uncovered by the Inspector General of Police X Squad Abuja deployed to the state after the squad busted the attempted kidnap of one Mr Azumana Ifeanyi on September 11, 2017 at the GRA, Port Harcourt.
The Official Police Signal with the title: "Police Wireless Message " and Reference Number DT0: 121030/09/2017 ---INGENPOL-X-FHQ ABUJA TO-INGENPOL SEC ABUJA, noted that the squad received a distress call on the kidnap of Mr Ifeanyi and immediately swung into action. According to the signal, they met the three SARS operatives robbing and a gun duel ensued. The operatives had taken Mr Ifeanyi to a Fidelity Bank ATM where they compelled him to withdraw N500,000 as ransom.
One of the SARS Operatives was killed, while Inspector Justice Nyeche who led the IGP team was injured.
Governor Wike said: "Most of the kidnapping and armed robbery taking place in this state are done by men of SARS. They use exhibit vehicles to operate. As the Chief Security Officer of the state, you complain, but they choose to play politics with crime. They fight crime in some state, but they refuse to fight crime in Rivers State. We are done with the elections, but they are using SARS to create insecurity in the state. As I speak with you, they will deny. But the SARS Operative who was killed was amongst those who raided the Rivers East Senatorial District Collation Centre. This man can be identified in the video as one of those who invaded the collation centre with Fakorede."
The governor stated that the deliberate acts of violence being perpetrated by the Police have been planned as part of the rigging process for 2019.
"I have never seen a country where they politicise crime. It is very obvious that they want to give the impression that Rivers State is unsafe. They want to instil fear preparatory to declaring during the elections that they are so much killing", he said.
He added: "Authorities deliberately trying to destroy a whole state and you want the people to be happy. I will no longer write. Now is the time to take my case to the public, for the whole world to know what is happening ".
The governor said that his administration has invested more than any other in security logistics, yet the Police work against the state. It will be recalled that the embattled Rivers State SARs Commander, Mr Akin Fakorede was caught on video invading the Rivers East Senatorial District Collation Centre on December 12, 2016.

"When I got to see it, I realized it was a joke" - Yung6ix admits that he misunderstood Akpororo's joke about buying a hit song

Akpororo was recently slammed by rapper Yung6ix after the comedian made a joke about the singer spending over 3m naira on drinks rather than purchasing a hit song. His DJ, Timmy , also joined in and got really personal.
He made videos calling out the comedian, saying his wife/mother of his child was once a sex slave and had aborted six times for a dancer. The DJ also threatened the comedian, saying "Your jokes would put you in trouble and make you get shot."
Ying6ix has now admitted in an interview with HipTV that he reacted without seeing the video about the joke. According to him;
At first when everybody started....I didn't get to see the full joke. But when I got to see it, I realized it was a joke. Its all entertainment. So no feelings/emotions attached. I knew it was a joke. We all made fun about it and all took advantage of the fact that I was trending and I had a new video out there. I don't see anything coming between me and him or whatever. He is my Delta brother and I respect him and his talent, but I wouldn't even joke or make jokes about anything that would make people feel indifferent about their success.  People make mistakes, people say jokes and like they always say, the joke is always funny until it's about you. I felt that way.

The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Zaki Ahmed on Wednesday, September 13, issued a statement following the attack on residents in Oyigbo LGA by members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and the killing of police sergeant today. Read text of press briefing below:
''Gentlemen of the Press. I greet you all. Again I have called you to address you on the sad event of yesterday 12/9/2017 at about 1400hrs where members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) without lawful authority blocked the entire Aba/Port Harcourt Express way and attacked some residents.
The said group who had no justification for their action also attacked a Police van from Training School Nonwa enroute Port Harcourt International Airport and burnt the Police van to ashes. The driver Inspr. Emaikwu Ochochi was badly injured and is now on admission. They also carted away one AK 47 riffle with sixty rounds of live Ammunition, and one Berretta Pistol with 8 rounds of live Ammunition. At the end of their rampage, many vehicles were damaged and stores burnt.
The timely response of the Police restored normalcy and brought the situation under control as I made adequate deployment to arrest the situation. The mob were dispersed with minimum force thereby restoring law and order. At the end of which 23 IPOB members were arrested.
However, the Command was awaken to yet another sad incident today at about 0010hrs, where the same dare devil IPOB members regrouped and launched a surprise attack on the Mobile Policemen stationed at Oyigbo junction, killing a Police Sergeant identified as Sgt. Steven Daniel attached to 19 PMF, injuring two and set a patrol vehicle ablaze as a result of which a Sterling SMG Riffle belonging to the deceased Sgt. was taken by the hoodlums. They were however repelled by the Police, where about 9 of them were arrested, bringing the total number of suspects arrested to 32. They are helping us in Investigation and will be due in Court as soon as our Investigation is concluded.
As a Command, we have been able to bring the situation under control, people are now going about their lawful businesses. I can assure you that, justice will be done in the circumstance. All those connected to this senseless carnage will be brought to justice. We shall spare no effort in dealing with any criminal elements in the State.
Once again I thank you for coming and will continue to seek your support to Police the State with International best practices and Rule of Law.
God bless you.

Biafra agitations aimed at toppling President Buhari's government- Northern Youths coalition says

The Coalition of Northern Youth Groups had a press confess in Kano state today where they alleged that the Biafra agitations by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) is aimed at toppling the Buhari-led government and getting President Buhari out of office by any means.

Addressing journalists at the press conference which held at the state's NUJ secretariat, the spokesperson of the groups, Abdul-azeez Suleiman, said the plan of IPOB members is to make Nigeria ungovernable. The group appealed to northerners residing in all parts of the country to remain calm and law-abiding and not be “dragged into taking laws in their hands”. They say they would not allow a foreigner or a "madman" throw the country into a state of anarchy.
“As cultured people with a long history of tolerance and respect for constituted authorities, we call on northerners to resist the temptation of carrying out reprisals and playing to the gallery. Northerners in line with their disciplined nature must refuse at this point to be dragged into taking the law in their hands through unnecessary and unproductive confrontation with members of any sectional, ethnic or religious group. We must remain peacefully focused, mutually respectful, trusting and tolerant as we repose confidence in the ability and committed willingness of the Nigerian security agencies to handle the situation as well as protect the lives and properties of every Nigerian anywhere. The agitations and disturbances that have been ongoing ceaselessly since the coming to power of the Muhammadu Buhari and Yemi Osinbajo administration in 2015, are aimed at rendering the country practically ungovernable, and ushering in of anarchy and instability, thereby occasioning a change of government by whatever means and tactics. Targeting president Buhari’s administration and singling him for attacks and irrelevant treatment is aimed at causing inter-regional crisis possibly leading to general unrest. Our stand on the current situation in Nigeria is that we will not fall to that instigation to allow a possible foreigner or a mad man to plunge us into this unnecessary madness. We, therefore, dedicate effort in creating the right conditions for peaceful negotiations with other peace-loving groups in every situation on the political dispensation that should emerge now or in the future.” he said.
