Nigerian Army denies invading the home of IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu, share photos from the attack

The Nigerian Army has denied media reports that some of its officers invaded the home of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu. According to a statement released by Major Oyegoke Gbadamosi, Assistant Director Army Public Relations
14 Brigade Nigerian Army, it was members of the secessionist group that attacked the troops. Read the statement below:
The attention of 14 Brigade Nigerian Army, has been drawn to fictitious news going round especially on the social media that troops have invaded the home of Nnamdi Kanu and killed 3 persons.
This is far from the truth. Rather, it was a group of suspected IPOB militants that blocked the road against troops of 145 Battalion while on show of force along FMC-Word Bank Road in Umuahia town, Abia State at about 6.00-6.30pm, today. They insisted that the military vehicles would not pass and started pelting the soldiers with stones and broken bottles to the point of injuring an innocent female passerby and a soldier, Corporal Kolawole Mathew.
The troops fired warning shots in the air and the hoodlooms dispersed. No life was lost.
Therefore the public are kindly enjoined to disregard the rumours going round and the fictitious photographs of purported victims of attack. Both the soldier and the innocent female passerby have been evacuated to the unit's Medical Inspection Room and are receiving treatment.
We would like to use this opportunity to warn mischief makers threatening the peace and security of the country through falsehood such as above.
Members of the public are please requested to go about their lawful business and report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station or security outfit.
You are please requested to disseminate this information to the public through your medium.
Thank you for your kind cooperation.
Major Oyegoke Gbadamosi
Assistant Director Army Public Relations
14 Brigade Nigerian Army.

Clean up your stinking mess and not blame me for it, I am not an easy target- FFK tells Aisha Alhassan

FFK has replied the Minister of Women Affairs, Aisha Alhassan, who called him out and said he was spreading a false report in which she was alleged to have said that the governor of Kaduna state, Nasir El-Rufai, was one of the masterminds of the Chibok school girls abduction which took place in 2014. Aisha has since released a statement denying the report.
In a post he shared on social media, FFK advised Alhassan to "tow the path of honor, to resign from this accursed Govt. and to leave the APC before they strip her stark naked and feed her to the dogs". Read what he wrote below...
"Mama Taraba should continue to stand on the platform of truth and not allow herself to be intimidated. I reacted to a story in which she allegedly exposed Nasir El Rufai.
It took her 24 hours to deny the story and I wonder why it took so long. If the story is not true she should blame the original source, medium and author of the allegation and not me.
I merely reacted to it like millions of other Nigerians did. She should clean up her stinking mess and not blame me for it.
I guess that it is also not true that her associates in the APC government have alleged that 12 million went missing under her watch as Minister and that she now supports Abubakar Atiku against her own boss.
She should stand firm and stop blowing hot and cold. You cannot serve God and the devil at the same time. I repeat she should clean up her stinking mess and understand that I am not a soft or easy target.
Whichever way the APC sun is still setting. My advice to her is to stop getting her pretty knickers in a twist, to tow the path of honor, to resign from this accursed Govt. and to leave the APC before they strip her stark naked and feed her to the dogs.

Nigerian man, Mr. Ye, shades Hushpuppi for lying about his seating position at an event they both attended

Following the recent boxing match between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor, Hall-of-Fame referee Robert Byrd came under fire for what appeared to be a premature stoppage, likely because a wobbly McGregor, despite taking heavy damage, was still on his feet when the bout was called.

However, according to former ringside physician Darragh O’Carroll he praised the referee for putting the brain before the brawn, 'Byrd's calculation to call a stoppage was likely not based on signs of fatigue, but rather signs of traumatic brain injury. Ataxia, or dizziness and loss of balance, is one of the hallmarks of concussion, a type of mild traumatic brain injury. Fatigue may cause sluggish and slow movements, but does not cause the imbalance and poor coordination exhibited by McGregor in the 10th round. Being wobbly, in the setting of pugilistic trauma, will always be treated as the result of head trauma and not as fatigue. To let a fighter continue on would be grossly negligent'.

Nigeria would have gone into extinction if not for Buhari – Amosun

Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, on Saturday, declared that Nigeria as a nation would have become history if not for the coming on board of the Pres. Buhari’s administration.
Just as he said that only health status would prevent Mr. President from contesting in the 2019 general elections. He noted that the Buhari-led government came at a time the country had security challenges which resulted in loss of lives and property in the North East region of the country.
Amosun said, “The only thing that can probably prevent Mr. President from contesting is on health ground because if not for this administration of Pres. Buhari, only God knows where Nigeria would have been.
As human beings, we quickly forget things if we would be fair to this administration, they came in, at a very deep end and imagine where the country is today. We were in recession and now we are out of it and it not easy to get to this point.
Again I am saying it, the only thing that can stop Mr President is on health ground but as we can see today Mr President is back rejuvenating and very soon it would be clear for everybody to see that Mr President is so well now.”
The governor, who was apparently reacting to an open support for the presidential bid of former vice president, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, by the Minister of Women Affairs, Hajia Jummai Alhassan, insisted that if not for Buhari, Nigeria would have gone into extinction.
He advised the minister to resign her appointment as a woman of honour. He said “She is entitled to her opinion, but I would have saluted her if she had honourably resigned her appointment, because you cannot blow both hot and cold at the same time.
Yes, I would have saluted her if she had resigned but falling short of resigning has taken everything away from what she had said. Well, I am not Mr President and I know that at the appropriate time he will review things.
For somebody to have come out and say such thing means clearly she is even working against the government and she will not want that government to succeed, that is my own believe.”

Nigerian man loses his life savings, €85,000 hidden in a bag, to Lagos wharf rats

.
.
One Chinedu Onyebuchi who is based in Bremen, Germany has reportedly lost all his life savings of over 8 years, Diasporareporters claims.
.
He alleged that €85,000 which is about N34million, hidden inside a luggage was stolen at the Nigeria Wharf. A distraught Chinedu Onyebuchi narrated the story to Diaspora Reporters. .
.
According to him, the luggage where the money was hidden, was shipped to Lagos, via a Volkswagen golf wagon which had motor engine parts and some used items in it. .
.
He was shocked and almost passed out when his agent, Sunday Anayo, told him that his consignment had been vandalised by port miscreants otherwise known as wharf rats.He didn’t believe the story until he got to wharf. The circumstances surrounding the purported incident is still unclear, however, what prompted Chinedu to transport such a huge sum via the means, is yet to be known too.
.
.
D.R gathered that he wanted to use the money in building a shopping complex in Ajangbadi, Lagos. It has been a big challenge for the port authority to get rid off port touts known as wharf rats. .
.
Once the rats spot a vehicle that has some expensive items inside, what they do is to look for a way to either open the door or in some cases, they break the glass to enable them have access, D.R alleges.

Chief Festus 'Adegboye' Onigbinde Files For Divorce From Wife For Being Violent

.
.
A former Super Eagles coach, Chief Adegboye Onigbinde, has filed a divorce suit against his wife, Abiona, at the Ibadan Customary Grade C Court sitting in Mapo. Onigbinde told the court that his wife is violent and stubborn, adding that she was unwilling to live harmoniously with him.
.
According to TheNation, when both appeared in court, the president of the court, Chief Odunade Adewuyi told the wife about the allegations leveled against her.
.
When asked if she wanted the marriage to be dissolved, Mrs. Onigbinde replied in the negative, saying she did not know why a divorce suit was filed against her.
.
The court said: “If his (Onigbinde) prayers are heard by the court, do you think the marriage should not be dissolved? Which steps did you take after your husband complained about these allegations? Does he like your attitude?
.
Let us say you are the husband and your wife says he doesn’t want something, won’t you know?” The woman replied: “He said he doesn’t like it. He said I’m violent, but it is not so. I called the first child and told him about it.
.
Also, I told my child and my husband’s elder brother. Our children went to beg him but he refused.” The president and other members of the court, Elder E.A. Ogundipe and Chief Raifu Raji, advised the woman to maintain peace with her husband.
Before the court adjourned hearing in the case, Onigbinde asked if his life would be protected because he was nearly attacked when one of the children and her husband came to his house.

I wish oil would dry up so we could start using our brains – El Rufai

Nasir el-Rufai, Kaduna state governor, says he desires for Nigeria’s crude oil to get exhausted so the nation can start to seriously develop other revenue sources, Thecable reports.
.
.
Describing the revenue generated from oil as “easy money,” the governor said when the oil dries up, Nigeria will regain its “thinking initiative”.
.
He made the statement on Saturday in Ibadan while speaking at the 2017 town hall meeting/founder’s day celebration in memory of Ojetunji Aboyade, a renowned economist.
.
“Because Nigeria gets easy money from oil, the nation has lost its thinking initiative on how to develop other sources of revenue and diversify the economy,” he said.
.
“We get easy money, we do not collect taxes and our taxes are 6% of Gross Domestic Product; that is an average of 21%. We stop respecting the intellectuals that we have in our universities because we get easy money.
.
This is very sad, I wish the oil will dry up so that we can begin to use our brains because we have stopped using our brains and we have stopped respecting intellects because of easy money.”  .
The governor lamented the country’s failure to plan for the future, and its inability to curb the ongoing brain drain. He said: “How can we promote a national subscription to meritocracy?
.
How can we ensure that the imperative of reflecting federal character does not become the enemy of merit and quality of appointments? Today, we don’t plan. We don’t have national plan and if we don’t plan, we are planning to fail.
.
“Having suffered brain drain, how do we attract back our Diaspora and the brain-gain associated with it like the Chinese and Indians have witnessed?
.
These are the questions a distributive mentality around easy oil revenues is dodging. “The earlier the oil dries up the better for our national ability to think, be innovative and respect intellect and academic achievement.”

Hotel cleaner arrested over N500million fraud

.
.
The operatives of Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a 30 year old hotel cleaner for defrauding a company of N2 million and attempting to collect another N500 million after hacking into the company’s e -mail address.
.
.
The suspect, Ahuja Sylvester was on Friday picked up by operatives in 911 Hotel, Warri, Delta State. He had sometime in April, 2017, hacked into the e – mail of a Lagos based company, posing as the Managing Director and instructing the firm’s accountant to disburse the sum of N2 million into his Access Bank account.
.
.
Using the same approach in June 2017, he again requested the payment of N500 million into a Zenith Bank account. The company detected this and quickly alerted the police who got him arrested.
.
.
The RRS Decoy team in their investigations discovered that the initial N2m was withdrawn with a debit card belonging to Ahuja Sylvester. Ahuja, in his statement to the police denied hacking into the account of any company, stressing that one NYSC member, Emmanuel, was the culprit.
.
.
He stated that he met Emmanuel at his work place in April, 2017. According to him: “Emmanuel told me that he was stranded and that somebody was going to send money to him.
.
.
He requested that I allow him use my ATM card because he couldnt locate his own and I did. He told me that I should alert him whenever I received credit alert on my phone and I did.
.
.
I expected these transactions to have been completed after two days. After almost a week, I saw him and I requested for my ATM, he told me he was still using it. He later told me that he had misplaced it. That was how he didn’t return the debit card again and he disappeared.
.
.
My salary came and I approached the bank. That was when I was told my account was having issues. This was the moment I got to know my account was used for fraudulent transactions.”
