"I can no longer accept toxic behavior": KeKe Wyatt's husband addresses divorce reports

Two days ago R&B singer KeKe Wyatt tearfully revealed that her husband Michael Ford asked her for a divorce though she's eight months pregnant and has a child battling cancer in hospital
Michael, who has been married to Keke for 7 years has now spoken out. He blamed Keke for his decision, saying that he has been the best husband to her and to their son who is battling leukemia but he can no longer stand her toxic behavior.
"For over seven years I have been Keke’s husband, backbone, friend, confidant, and support system. I have loved, raised, supported, and cared for every child in our family (biological or not), including our son who is currently battling leukemia. I will continue to be that person and do all of these things, but I will not be her husband," Ford told TheJasmineBrand in an exclusive statement.
He added: "I can no longer allow our children to live in a toxic environment and, because I love Keke, I can no longer accept toxic behavior. A home should be a refuge of peace from the inequity and harshness of the world. Keke is much stronger than she gives herself credit for and she is a great mother. There is a healing that needs to take place and I have faith that it will happen. There is never a good time for a family to deal with harsh realities, but as long as we keep God first we have to know that our battle has already been won. Now, as our family deals with these realities I humbly ask that you please keep us lifted in prayer, and when you comment please keep our children in mind."
Keke's first marriage ended after she stabbed her husband/manager on Christmas day in 2001

Boko Haram and Al-Shabab recruits 'lack religious schooling' - UN study

A new study by the United Nations concludes that any young Africans drawn to extremist groups know "little to nothing" about religious texts and interpretations.

The survey, the first of its kind in Africa, profiled nearly 500 voluntary recruits to militant groups including al-Shabab and Boko Haram. Finding a job is "the most acute need at the time of joining a group," the report finds. It also points to government action as a "tipping point". Most of those surveyed reported unhappy childhoods and a lack of parental supervision.

Researchers from the UN Development Programme (UNDP) spoke to recruits in Kenya, Nigeria, Somalia, Sudan, Cameroon and Niger to compile the report. Al-Shabab is based in Somalia but often stages attacks in Kenya, while Nigeria's Boko Haram group has also spread to neighbouring Niger and Cameroon.

The researchers also interviewed people of similar backgrounds to those recruited, but who did not become radicalised. Based on these sample groups, they say that receiving "at least six years of religious schooling is shown to reduce the likelihood of joining an extremist group by as much as 32%".

Recruitment is "predominantly face-to-face" rather than online as outside Africa, and the report says that many recruits come from borderland areas that have "suffered generations of marginalisation". The killing or arrest of a family member or friend is a key trigger, according to the report, with over 70% of interviewees saying this or another form of government action was the "tipping point" before the final decision to join a militant group.

Buhari government has abandoned me, Atiku laments

.
.
Atiku Abubakar, former vice-president, says the government of President Muhammadu Buhari has sidelined him despite his contributions to bringing it to power.‎
.
.
According to Daily Trust, the former vice-president said this in an interview on the Hausa service of the Voice of America (VOA) on Wednesday. Abubakar said he used his contacts and resources to help APC defeat PDP in the 2015 presidential election.
.
.
“Honestly speaking, I’m still a member of the APC; I was part of all the processes, including campaigns until success was achieved,” he was quoted as saying.
.
.
“But sadly, soon after the formation of government; I was side-lined, I have no any relationship with the government, I’ve not been contacted even once to comment on anything and in turn, I maintained my distance.
They used our money and influence to get to where they’re but three years down the lane, this is where we are.” Abubakar’s outburst comes at the same time Aisha Alhassan, minister of women affairs, declared support for him to run for office in 2019.

I am married to an Igbo woman – President of the group that issued Igbo quit notice

President of Arewa Youths Consultative Forum, Alhaji Shetima Yerima, while debunking claims that he has something against the Igbos, has revealed that his first wife is Igbo. He made the revelation in a recent interview with The Sun.
.
.
When asked whether he has phobia for the Igbos or just fighting this cause based on your conviction, he said: “A lot of my friends are Igbo people. I have nothing against the Igbo.
.
.
It did not end there, let me also demonstrate that to you; my first wife is from Calabar, the old South Eastern region. We have two kids. I have a good relationship with the Igbo.
.
.
I have attended an event organized in memory of Odumegwu Ojukwu in Owerri under the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) led by Ralph Uwazuruike. For the past five years, I have been going to Owerri.
.
.
How best would I describe my relationship with the Igbo? During my school days in Lagos State University, Igbo people are my best friends. I am not against the Igbo but I am against any tribe that abuses the sensibilities of my leaders.
.
.
And this is what prompted the action but thank God, it has come to an end. I still maintain my relationship with my Igbo brothers. All the ethnic groups in this country, I want to appeal to them, let us come together and build a nation of our own.
.
.
We should know that all of us are being marginalized and what we should do is to come together and build the nation we can call our own. We are all human beings and we are bound to make things right or wrong.”

Lady Spends 23 Years Growing The World’s Longest Fingernails

.
.
A Texas woman has been crowned with the title of the world’s longest fingernails – and in total they measure more than 18 feet long. The long nails belong to Ayanna Williams, a nail artist from Houston, Texas.
.
.
Her nails, each of which is just under two foot long, have earned her a place in the Guinness World Records 2018 Edition. Having spent most of her adult life growing her nails, more than 23 years, she was first inspired by a friend and plans to continue growing them.
.
.
She has also revealed that the most challenging thing about having extremely long fingernails, which can take up to one week to paint, is pulling up her trousers. While she’s constantly getting lots of attention for her nails, and knows she is rather unique, her friends and family think it’s quite normal.
.
.
In order to take care of her nails, Ayanna uses anti-bacterial soap and a nail brush to clean them daily. And to help them grow, she regularly applies hardener and a thin layer of acrylic.
.
.
‘To let my children know that anything they want to accomplish can be done. It takes courage, discipline and patience but it can be accomplished,’ said Ayanna on her reason for applying for the record.

Jigawa school girl loses finger to lizard droppings concoction

A Junior Secondary School III student, Safiya Abbas Ahmed, has had her finger amputated after applying lizard droppings to a festering knife cut wound on it, DailyTrust reports.
.
.
A source in the school who said the Education Ministry has already waded into the matter, said Safiya was allegedly advised to apply lizard faeces and beans by a matron as local treatment in the absence of prescription drugs.
.
Safiya, 15, a student of Government Girls Junior Science Secondary School, Miga, Jigawa State, was unable to sleep owing to the pain from the wound but she could not be taken to the school authority for immediate medical attention as the principal was said to have warned the staff against taking any student’s complaint to her after school hours.
.
.
Disturbed by her condition, the matron in her dormitory introduced her to the lizard faeces concoction as a so-called traditional medicine. This, however further worsened the girl’s condition as her forefinger became swollen.
.
.
Despite her deteriorating condition, two days after, Safiya could not get any medical attention because the school had no clinic, and the principal was said to have left for the weekend in Kano.
.
.
Safiya later pleaded with one of her teachers to call her father, Malam Abbas Ahmed, who then took her to a hospital where it was diagnosed that infection from the first aid earlier applied had overwhelmed the finger and it should be amputated.
.
.
Narrating how it all started, Safiya said on the fateful day, she had observed a voluntary fast and that in the process of cutting onions to prepare a salad dish, she sustained a knife cut on her left index finger.
.
.
When contacted, the state Commissioner for Education, Rabi Ishaq, said the ministry had already set up a committee to investigate the matter and report back for necessary action.

How we arrested man who stabbed wife to death after one month of marriage – Police

.
.
Australian returnee, Stephen Ogho-Oghene Akpata, has been arrested by the police in Bayelsa State for killing his wife an employee of Glo, Onyinye, after making love to her for about an hour.
.
.
Akpata, who confessed to killing her, following suspicion of infidelity, was arrested in Lagos following his failed attempt to flee to Ghana.
.
.
The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Amba Asuquo, said the incident was first reported to the police on August 16, when one Moses Awo complained that Onyinye, 33, failed to report to her place of work.
.
.
Asuquo said a police team, who went to the apartment found the body of the deceased, who hailed from Abia State, in the pool of her blood.
.
.
He said: “We recovered three quarter knickers from the scene.” On how the deceased was killed, Asuquo said: “Marks of violence on the deceased’s head, face, neck and body revealed that the deceased was strangled with the pressing iron and its coil tied round her neck and stabbed with a knife to her death”.
.
.
On how the police cracked the crime, he said: “The three quarter knickers had blood stains. We tried to find out who was with the girl because we know that she had just contracted a registry marriage with Akpata.
.
.
We got in touch with him and he gave us the impression that he was out of town. But he was plotting his own escape. We found out that prior to the incident, he had expended much money on the girl. They were moving from one hotel to the other.
.
.
So, we got in touch to some of the hotels that he had lodged. We observed he didn’t own a car since he came in from Australia. We identified the taxis that were extending services to him.
.
.
We got one of the taxi drivers and he confirmed that he had seen the man wearing the same knickers. Some of the hotels confirmed they had seen the man wearing the same knickers. Since he said he was in Lagos, we suspected that Ghana or Republic of Benin was the likely destinations for him.
.
.
We got in touch with the embassies. He actually slept in Ghanaian Embassy but he later escaped back to Badagry where he was arrested.”
